Hi, I’m Kai — a soon-to-be graduate from the University of Minnesota with a passion for advertising, marketing, and the ideas that shape how people connect with brands. I’m drawn to the way great campaigns can tap into what’s happening in culture, flip a familiar story, or make someone see the world a little differently.
Inspired by music, history, art, news, and pop culture, I love digging into what makes people tick and using that to spark ideas. Through my ideas and writing, I want to create work that’s thoughtful, fresh, and always a little unexpected.
I'm ready to bring curiosity, creativity, and a collaborative spirit to an agency or brand looking to make something that actually matters — or at the very least, makes people look twice.
“If I were starting life over again, I am inclined to think that I would go into the advertising business in preference to almost any other. The general raising of standards of modern civilization among all groups of people during the past half-century would have been impossible without that spreading of the knowledge of higher standards by means of advertising.” – Franklin Roosevelt

Electric Fetus- Shock Your Ears
Growing up in Minneapolis and being into music I know how important Electric Fetus is to the history of music and the city. I wanted to come up with a creative and simple slogan that had to do with music and their unique name. I ended up thinking of “Shock Your Ears.” Prince’s image is used because of his relationship with Minneapolis and the record store.
Bringing the Left and the Right Together
In these hard times, our country is more divided than ever. I wanted to come up with a clever headline that could bring everyone together and unite our country. I figured this could be used for products with a “left” and a “right”. For example, this would work well with Levi jeans (pants,) since Levis is a well-known American brand. I ended up creating a print advertisement for Nike with “The Right” shoe being red to represent Republicans and “The Left” shoe being blue to represent Democrats.
I See London, I See France, We See Your Underpants!
My dad is British, and I am a British citizen through him, so naturally I grew up seeing a lot of British media. This saying is very nostalgic for me growing up in elementary school. I thought this would make a funny slogan for an underwear print advertisement, so I created one for the popular underwear brand, Hanes.
What’s Up Stick Nation!
For this idea, I was inspired by the viral TikTok page called “Stick Nation”. Stick Nation is a page where people send in their own videos of an interesting stick they found. It is meant to bring the inner kid or dog out of us, whatever suits one best. I thought that this headline could be used to advertise things like beef sticks. Since Stick Nation is funny and has a strong following with a variety of ages and types of people, I thought this headline would resonate with a lot of people.
